New archive footage: The Sigd Ethipoian Holiday in Jerusalem

The Highlight Films archive team have filmed a unique religious ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008. The Sigd, an important holiday for the Ethiopian Jews, was celebrated for the first time as a formal Israeli holiday. Each year, fifty days after Yom Kippur,
members of the Ethiopian Jewish community fast and gather on a mountain top overlooking the old city of Jerusalem for a gathering of prayers. Our crew filmed the gathering in Armon Hanatsiv promenade in Jerusalem. The footage will be available after Monday, December 2, 2008.

New HD rare archive footage of boat ride in the Dead Sea

Highlight now has unprecedented high definition archive footage of a boat ride in the Dead Sea---something rarely done on the satly waters there. The footage feautures birds who live in the middle of the sea and clearly shows the drying up of the sea itself. In addition, Highlight has footage of the point where the Jordan River spills into the sea, a place which usually has restricted entry, making this footage one-of-a-kind. Fighting in Gaza: TV and web news access

As the fighting in Gaza escalates, Highlight Films continues to provide all services and facilities for news production on both sides: In Gaza we have experienced fixers, professional camera crews and uplink services from Gaza City and Rafah.

In Israel, our camera crews and news producers are in Sderot, Ashkelon and the area surrounding the Gaza Strip. Uplink is available on a regular basis from Sderot, and upon request we can arrange a feed uplink from virtually any location in the area.

In addition to ENG production services and access to both military and political figures on both sides, we have an extensive archive footage that includes the history of the Gaza conflict since 1988.

The Israeli government is now granting significant tax breaks to foreign film productions that film their productions in Israel. To be eligible, film producers must co-produce with Israeli producers or production companies. Highlight co-produces both documentray and feature productions all the time with international partners.
