Haolim processing applications

Highlight has received hundreds of applications for Haolim, Highlight's upcoming reality show about 8 young immigrants to Israel who compete to become Israel's ultimate Oleh. The Avid Mojo SDI completes another off-line editing suite for Highlight

The Highlight Films' editing suites in the Tel Aviv office have been enriched with another off-line editing suite that we just purchased , the Avid Mojo SDI.

The Avid Mojo SDI provides the highest quality professional SD connections to facility-class cameras and decks, and offers simultaneous output to both broadcast monitors and tape, and features Genlock and Word Clock for video and audio sync with external devices.
In addition it allows us to monitor and output HD timelines in SD with real-time down-convert.

Avid Mojo SDI provides serial sigital video, I/O for IEEE-1394, and either component or composite and S-video. Mojo SDI supports up to 8 channels of embedded audio over SDI and 2 channels of optical S/PDIF audio, with additional connections for 4 channels of AES/EBU audio.

As the core of the video-editing suite, the Avid Mojo SDI connects to any qualified Mac or PC system via a single FireWire cable and scales from DV25 to uncompressed SD video.

'Bahad 1' now in editing

'Bahad 1', the reality show following cadets and their transformation into officers in the IDF officers training school is now in editing. The series in produced by Noam Shalev and directed by Yifat Kedar. The series will air on Israel's Reshet , on channel 2, early next year. For more info email info@highlight.co.il

Each production we handle is managed by one of our experienced fixers - Israeli and Palestinian production managers who have already been in charge of dozens of productions in the last years.

Highlight to produce new documentary about the Dead Sea

Highlight is now finishing up the development of a new documentary about the Dead Sea that will expose how the cosmetic industry is literally killing it. Israeli Air Force video footage - now available for licensing

Our archive is now offering broadcasters and media companies the use of footage taken in Israel and US of Israeli and American air force fighter planes and bombers in training, Footage include take offs and landings of F-15 and F-16 jets, dropping bombs on training targets, cockpit camera footage and aerial views.

Footage screeners will be available in two weeks, following logging and digitizing.

We have several sets of high definition cameras available for hire. In many cases we send our professional cameramen, sound recordists and other experienced personnel per demand. In other cases, we would rent out our camera sets with either a camera person, sound recordist or assistant cameraman.

New High Definition footage: Christian sites in Jerusalem & Bethlehem

The Highlight Films aerial filming team has completed another successful aerials shoot: this time we concentrated on important Christian religious sites in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. We filmed the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Church of Gethsemane, Mount Olives and Mount Scopus in Jerusalem; The Church of Nativity and long shots of the Bethlehem skyline; Judea Desert and the Judea Mountains surrounding Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
The footage was filmed by our Sony HDW-F900R high definition camera. It will be available for licensing in two weeks, once we are done with logging and uploading the footage to our archive server.

We now accept new ideas for documentary productions 2009-2010

We are now taking new ideas for documentary films to be produced after October 2008, and to be released during 2009-2010.

We are specifically interested in proposals from documentary filmmakers dealing with the following themes:

The environment - stories related to water, air etc'. We are looking for new approaches to the topics dealing with the environment, specifically in the Mediterranean and in the Middle East.

The War against Terrorism - we are always looking for fresh angles and new access.

Tomorrow's technology - our development team is now working on several formats covering technology and science stories. Rather than hi-tech, we are looking for "things that make our life better". Generally, we plan to produce a large series of 7-10 minutes features. We are always glad to meet new directors, producers and writers.

We promise to respond quickly to any ideas pitched to us. If we are not interested, we will thanks you and hope you will offer us some more proposals in the future; If we like your pitch and think we can make a film out of it, we will let you know and offer you a business model to follow.

In any case - we don't have any rights on ideas offered to us until the parties concerned sign an agreement of cooperation.

Travel video clips of Christian religious sites - now available

The Highlight Films archive team is now working on pre-edited, high resolution video clips for web sites dealing with Christianity and religious Christian themes. The travel clips will include footage of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Sea of Galilee area and other Biblical / New Testament locations and themes. We will include both aerial and ground footage of the locations. Clips are now offered in WMV / MOV / FLV formats to websites. Low resolution screeners will be available online within the next two weeks.

High Definition aerial footage of Tel Aviv at sunset

The latest addition to the Highlight Films aerial footage archive is the outcome of a shooting session of the Tel Aviv shoreline, at sunset. We filmed Tel Aviv and Jaffa (Yafo) from the east, south and west. Flight altitude: 400-900 ft.

We have used our Sony HDW-F900R High Definition camera, with a Canon 4.7 wide angle lens.
All the aerial footage we film is in a 25p frame rate.

The Highlight Films footage library now offers more than 1000 hours of high quality video footage of Israel, Palestine and other locations in the Middle East.

Selected clips of this new footage will be available on our website in a few days, once logging and digitizing is complete.

Our Ramallah office is now handling all requests for camera crew and production services in Gaza, including uplink, transportation and security. We can provide all services in a short notice, but it is recommended to book crews and feed time at least 24 hours in advance.

For producers and crews wishing to enter Gaza: the only entry point is the Erez crossing north of Gaza City.

The Highlight Films aerial filming crew completed today an extensive shoot of Jerusalem and vicinity from the air. For this shoot we have used our Sony HDW-F900R High Definition camera, with a Canon 4.7 wide angle lens.
The new footage is simply exquisite: afternoon and late afternoon shots of the Old City of Jerusalem, including Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Temple Mount - Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque, Ein Kerem, Mount Olives, Mount Scopus and many other important locations.
All the aerial footage we film is in a 25p frame rate.

After today's terror attack in Jerusalem - What next?

Since today's terror attack in Jerusalem we were contact by many producers planning to follow up the story and prepare next days shoot. As far as we know now (1300 GMT), the Islamic Jihad took responsibility for this attack. Since Hamas and Fatah are not involved, expectations are that Israeli will not react against them. Negotiations between Hamas and Israel about the Gilad Shalit deal are expected to continue. The Islamic Jihad has been responsible for the latest violations of the cease fire agreement in the Gaza area.

Until today, Israel chose to ignore these violations.

The Highlight Films archive team is offering edited video clips of Israeli landscape, travel and scenery for commercial companies as well as public and private organizations.We offer interested customers pre-edited clips in packages ranging from one minute loops to 15 minute loops. The footage is both aerial and ground beauty shots of various Israeli landscapes.
