Highlight Films' new TV series, BAHAD-1, will premiere in the Tel Aviv Cinemateque on July 23, 2009. The first ever TV broadcast of the first episode will take place on Channel 2, Israel, on Wednesday July 29 at prime time. The commissioning broadcaster, Reshet, plans a special programme that will include a live studio discussion following the transmission of the first episode.
BAHAD-1 follows the Israeli army combat officers course. The Highlight Films crews joined the young cadets for seven months of training in the Israeli Negev desert, in the occupied territories, in the northern front and at the Golan Heights.
The Israeli version of BAHAD-1 is a five one-hours series, presented and narrated by senior military correspondent Roni Daniel.
Highlight Films is now producing the international version of BAHAD-1, a 90 minutes documentary film which will be available for international sales by the end of the year.
BAHAD-1 is the first Israeli production to be filmed and edited in High Definition, and the first time ever for a TV production to extensively access the combat officers course, one of the renowned military sanctuaries in Israel.

The Dead Sea will make the list of candidates for the new "Seven Wonders of the World" competition, following the Palestinian submission, added last night to the Israeli and the Jordanian ones.
